As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The research presented in this submission, or substantial parts thereof, have not been previously published, nor is it currently under review with another publication venue (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editors).
  • The article text file is a PDF file. Supplementary files must be PDF or plain text.

Author Guidelines

1. The journal welcomes submissions presenting original research which has not previously been published or peer reviewed elsewhere. There should be no overlap with any other previously published articles. In case of doubt, contact the Editorial team for clarification.
2. Submissions are welcome in German or English. Authors are responsible for submitting manuscripts of a high standard regarding language and orthography. Manuscripts can only be accepted as PDF documents submitted via our online submission system. If a manuscript is subsequently accepted for publication, the source file (Word, OpenOffice, LibreOffice or Latex files including auxiliary files) in addition to the PDF file will also be required. There are no article processing charges (APCs) or publication charges for this journal.
3. Submitted manuscripts should be no longer than 10,000 words or 75,000 characters. For reviews, long reviews can be up to 1,500 words or short reviews up to 500 words.
4. Since all article and Forum papers undergo a double-blind peer review process, please make sure the article has been sufficiently anonymized – all indications of authorship in the PDF document (including metadata) must be removed. In addition to the PDF manuscript, the following information is required:

  • An English abstract of no more than 200 words
  • Up to 6 key words

5. Journal style follows the De Gruyter Mouton Journal Style Sheet:
https://www.degruyter.com/staticfiles/pdfs/mouton_journal_stylesheet.pdf
Please note the following:

  • In citations to works with more than one author, use ‘&’ (e.g., ‘Wort & Schatz 1994’)
  • Any citations in languages other than German or English should be translated into the same language as the article.
  • Use the German terms, such as ‘Tabelle’, ‘Abbildung’, or ‘Abschnitt’, in German-language articles.
  • Times New Roman is the generic font. All fonts used should be unicode-based.

6. When submitting Latex documents, ideally only packages/macros available in up-to-date Latex repositories (CTAN) should be used. If the bibliography has been generated using Bibtex, the bib-and bbl-documents must be submitted in addition.
